Our college essay workshops guide students through the process of identifying meaningful experiences and shaping them into compelling, reflective essays. Sessions demystify the admissions essay while strengthening writing, confidence, and self-awareness.

College Essay Advanced Workshops
Advanced workshops build on the storytelling skills introduced in our core sessions and focus on applying those skills to specific college essay prompts. These workshops can deepen prior learning or stand on their own for students ready to refine and tailor their essays.
UC PIQs: Students learn how to approach the University of California Personal Insight Questions using storytelling to clearly communicate their experiences, values, and growth.
Scholarships: Students learn how to balance storytelling and reporting in scholarship essays, connecting moment-driven narratives to the mission and values of specific scholarships.

Introduction to Teaching the Moments Method®: Educators learn how to teach the Moments Method® to support student storytelling for college essays and career readiness.

Educator Advanced Workshops
Letters of Recommendation: Educators learn how to use storytelling to write strong, student-centered letters of recommendation.

Core Workshops
Core workshops introduce students to the Moments Method® and the fundamentals of storytelling for college admissions, with a focus on brainstorming, drafting, and editing a compelling personal statement (Common App essay).
Essay Essentials: An introduction to the Moments Method® and the role of storytelling in college admissions. Students build a portfolio of story ideas they can use across applications and scholarships.
Personal Statement: Guided drafting sessions using the StoryBuilder platform. Students leave with a complete personal statement draft.
Essay Editing: Step-by-step revision support focused on clarity, structure, and detail.
