Workshops

Live, interactive storytelling workshops for college admissions, careers, and beyond

Revision Learning’s workshops help students, educators, professionals, and organizations learn how to identify meaningful experiences, connect the dots across their journeys, and talk about themselves in clear, compelling ways. Participants develop the skills to name what matters, point to specific moments, and shape those experiences into stories that resonate.

Grounded in the Moments Method®, our workshops are hands-on, reflective, and adaptable—designed to meet participants where they are and give them tools they can use immediately and return to over time.

Our Workshop Approach

Whether we’re working directly with students or professionals, or partnering with educators, coaches, organizations to build storytelling capacity within their communities, all Revision Learning workshops:

  • Begin with lived experience as the foundation for story

  • Emphasize reflection, specificity, and growth

  • Balance structure with creativity

  • Are tailored to the audience, goals, and context

  • Can be delivered virtually (Zoom) or in person

Workshops can stand alone or be combined with platform access, curriculum, and 1:1 coaching for deeper, sustained impact.

Workshop Formats

We offer two primary workshop formats—direct and train-the-trainer—depending on your goals and who you want leading the work.

Direct Workshops

We work directly with your students, professionals, or participants.

In direct workshops, Revision Learning coaches lead live, interactive sessions that help participants identify meaningful experiences and shape them into strong, authentic stories.

These workshops are ideal when you want:

  • Expert facilitation without adding to staff workload

  • Consistent instruction across a cohort or program

  • Immediate, hands-on impact for participants

Train-the-Trainer Workshops

We train educators, counselors, advisors, and leaders in our approach.

In train-the-trainer workshops, we equip educators and leaders with the tools, language, and frameworks they need to support storytelling work independently and consistently within their own contexts.

These workshops are ideal when you want:

  • A shared storytelling framework across a team or organization

  • Sustainable internal capacity beyond a single workshop

  • Classroom-ready tools educators can use immediately

Participants receive classroom- or workshop-ready materials—including slide decks, lesson plans, and worksheets—to support ongoing implementation.

Workshop Focus

Revision Learning offers workshops in two primary content areas, college admissions essays and career stories. While both are grounded in the same storytelling framework, each focuses on different goals, audiences, and outcomes.

College Essay Workshops

Focused on helping students tell authentic, reflective stories for college applications.

College essay workshops help students identify meaningful experiences and shape them into compelling personal statements, supplemental essays, and scholarship essays, while supporting educators in developing a clear, consistent approach to guiding authentic student work. These workshops emphasize reflection, specificity, and growth while demystifying the college admissions essay process.

Focused on helping professionals articulate skills, experience, and character through meaningful career stories.

Career Stories

Career storytelling workshops help professionals connect the dots across their experiences and identify particularly meaningful moments they can use to communicate their skills, experience, and character with clarity and confidence. At the same time, these workshops support leaders and educators in developing a clear, consistent approach to guiding professionals as they articulate and refine their career stories across different contexts.

College Essay Workshops

For students and educators

Our college essay workshops support both students and the educators who guide them. Through direct student workshops, we help students identify meaningful experiences and shape them into compelling, reflective personal statements, supplemental essays, and scholarship essays. These sessions demystify the college admissions essay process while strengthening writing skills, confidence, and self-awareness.

Through train-the-trainer educator workshops, we support counselors, teachers, and advisors in developing a clear, consistent approach to guiding authentic student work—helping them understand what to look for in strong essays and how to support reflection, specificity, and growth.

Across both formats, workshops emphasize authenticity over performance, helping students communicate values, perspective, and growth rather than trying to write what they think admissions readers want to hear.

Direct Student College Essay Workshops
