Whether you’re just getting started or refining your final draft, Revision Learning’s expert coaches provide personalized, actionable support to help you tell your most authentic story. Through flexible coaching options—detailed written feedback and live 1:1 sessions—students receive individualized guidance to brainstorm ideas, refine structure, and strengthen their writing. Our goal is to help every student craft essays that reflect their voice, values, and impact.
Written Essay Coaching
If you prefer to write on your own and get expert feedback after, this option is for you. Just upload your draft to the Revision Learning platform, and within 48 hours, your coach will return detailed, personalized feedback to help you take your essay to the next level.
The feedback consists of three parts:
A custom visual rubric that shows exactly what’s working and what needs attention.
We use the Revision Learning College Essay Rubric to assess your essay’s submission readiness across five key attributes:

Details, Dialogue + Description
Grammar
2. In-line comments with question-based notes and suggestions directly on your draft.
3. A personalized feedback letter highlighting your essay’s biggest strengths and 2–3 specific strategies to make your next revision even stronger.
You’ll get clear, actionable steps so you can confidently revise your essay on your own schedule.
Live Essay Coaching
Whether you’re stuck brainstorming or putting the finishing touches on your essay, your coach will help you uncover the stories that matter most. In live, one-on-one Zoom sessions, you’ll get personalized support tailored to where you are in the writing process.
Every session is designed to help you feel confident, clear, and in control of your story.

Brainstorm ideas for your personal statement or supplemental essays and get real-time feedback.
Edit and refine a draft live with your coach’s guidance.
Ask questions about structure, tone, or what makes a college essay stand out.
At Revision Learning, we don’t edit students’ writing!
Instead, we provide actionable suggestions so students can make improvements on their own!
