For students who learn best by working alongside others. In this live, interactive 2-hour workshop, you'll learn the Moments Method® and use it to find and shape the story at the heart of your college essays — with real-time feedback from an expert coach and a small, supportive group.

You'll leave with a clear story to build your personal statement around, a framework you can apply to every essay you write, and one year of upgraded platform access. Open to first-time applicants and transfer students. Spots limited to 20. Instructor: Nick Fernald, Founder of Revision Learning.

What is the Moments Method®?

The Moments Method® is a neuroscience-based storytelling framework that helps students find meaningful experiences from their own lives and shape them into clear, specific, memorable essays. Instead of starting with a prompt, it starts with your life. It's the foundation of everything we do — from our platform to our workshops to our coaching.

Where should I start?

It depends on how you learn best. If you want to explore at your own pace, start with a free platform account. If you learn better in a live setting, our College Essay Workshop is a great place to start. And if you want personalized feedback right away, our Essay Review Credit is a low-commitment way to try working with a coach.

How does coaching work?

Coaching is credit-based and flexible. Each credit can be used for one personal statement review, two supplemental essay reviews, or 20 minutes of live coaching on Zoom. Credits expire one year after purchase, and you can buy more anytime through the platform. Written feedback is returned within 48 hours and includes a personalized letter, a color-coded rubric, and specific in-line comments. Learn more about coaching →

What happens after I check out?

At checkout, you'll fill out a short form with the student's name, email, and coach preference. We'll be in touch within 48 hours to create your platform account and assign you to a coach. From there, your coach will reach out directly to get you set up and walk you through how to submit essays for feedback or schedule live sessions on Zoom.

Can I work with a specific coach?

Yes — at checkout you can indicate a coach preference. Students generally work with the same coach throughout the whole process, so you'll build a real relationship with someone who knows your stories and your voice. All Revision Learning coaches are experienced storytelling educators trained in the Moments Method®. Meet our coaches →

Do credits expire?

Yes — credits expire one year after purchase. This applies to all coaching packages and individual credits. If you need more after using your package, additional credits are available to purchase anytime through the platform.

Do you work with transfer students?

Yes — our workshops, coaching, and platform are open to both first-time applicants and transfer students. The Moments Method® works equally well for transfer personal statements and supplemental essays.

Do you work with schools and organizations?

Yes — Revision Learning partners with K-12 schools, college access organizations, nonprofits, and universities to deliver structured college essay support. We offer platform access, workshops, coaching credits, and curriculum licensing for organizations of all sizes. Learn about org programs →
