Storytelling Curriculum for Classrooms

Bring storytelling into your classroom clearly, consistently, and at scale

Revision Learning’s storytelling curriculum helps educators teach students how to discover their voice, reflect on meaningful experiences, and communicate with clarity and purpose. Grounded in the Moments Method®, our curriculum provides everything educators need to teach storytelling for college admissions, career readiness, and beyond.

What Our Curriculum Includes

Our curriculum is designed to be practical, flexible, and classroom-ready, whether you’re teaching one lesson or building a full unit.

All materials are designed to support student ownership, authentic voice, and consistent instruction across classrooms.

Educators receive:

  • Lesson plans aligned to the Moments Method®

  • Slide decks for direct instruction and facilitation

  • Student worksheets and activities to support brainstorming, drafting, and revision

  • Reflection prompts that help students connect experience to insight

  • Assessment tools that support feedback without over-editing student work

What Students Learn

Through our curriculum, students learn how to:

  • Identify meaningful experiences from their own lives

  • Focus on specific moments of growth or change

  • Structure stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end

  • Use concrete details, reflection, and voice

  • Apply storytelling skills to college essays, career materials, and presentations

Students leave with both strong written work and transferable communication skills they can use beyond the classroom.

Built on the Moments Method®

Our curriculum is grounded in the Moments Method®, a neuroscience-informed, five-step storytelling framework that helps students turn lived experience into meaningful stories.

The five steps:

  1. Find Stories

  2. Focus In

  3. Tell It Out Loud

  4. Map It

  5. Focus Out

This shared framework ensures alignment across classrooms, grade levels, and educators, so students receive consistent guidance no matter who is supporting them.

Flexible for Different Classroom Contexts

Our curriculum can be used:

  • As a standalone storytelling unit

  • Integrated into English, advisory, or college counseling courses

  • As part of a college essay or career readiness sequence

  • Across multiple classrooms to support department-wide alignment

We work with schools to adapt materials based on time, student needs, and instructional goals.

Our curriculum is used by:

  • High school English teachers

  • College counselors and advisors

  • College access and youth development programs

  • Schools and organizations seeking consistent, equity-centered storytelling instruction
