  • Nick

    FOUNDER + CEO

    Nick is a teacher, storyteller, and entrepreneur with a deep-rooted passion for education and equity. His journey began in the classroom, first as an English Teaching Assistant in Colombia, then through a master’s program in education, followed by English as a Second Language, social studies, and English Language Arts teaching positions. In 2020, he transitioned into education tech, where he discovered a new calling: leveraging technology to expand access to learning and opportunity. In 2023, he founded Revision Learning, a mission-driven organization to help students improve their writing, tell their stories, and use storytelling as a tool to get into college or advance in their careers.

    He holds a EdM in teaching and curriculum from Harvard, an MA in Spanish from Middlebury, and a BA in history from UMass Amherst.

    Stephanie

    CUSTOMER SUCCESS MANAGER/COACH

    Stephanie LaVardera is an actor and teaching artist who's been working with students of all ages since 2013, combining both her love for storytelling and sharing these skills with others. Before working with Revision Learning, she spent five years working with Story2 as a coach and running the essay feedback program. Stephanie is also currently on the faculty of the Waterwell Drama Program at the Professional Performing Arts School in NYC, and has also taught drama, voice, and speech with various theatres and art organizations, such as Everyman Theatre in Baltimore, Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD, and Hamlet Isn't Dead and Wingspan Arts in NYC.

    Stephanie holds an MFA in Classical Acting from the George Washington University and a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

    Roxy

    DIRECTOR OF COACHING + CURRICULUM/COACH

    Roxanna (Roxy) Azari is an award-winning poet, storyteller, and educator who is passionate about using language to create change. Roxy has been featured in spaces such as Madison Square Garden, Off-Broadway, the United Nations, PBS, World Channel, the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and colleges internationally. As a former Thomas J. Watson Fellowship recipient, Roxy created and facilitated poetry and performance workshops with young women in the Middle East, Europe, North Africa, and South-East Asia. In addition to her work at Revision Learning, Roxy also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer for the Women's and Gender Department at Hunter College.

    Roxy holds an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalization from LSE and a BA in English Literature & Women’s Studies from Wheaton College.

  • Kim Cuomo Headshot

    Kim

    PRODUCT CONSULTANT

    Kim Cuomo is an experienced engineer and technical product manager who serves as an advisor to Revision Learning. She brings her expertise in education technology and product development. For over six years, Kim was a key team member at Story2, an innovative ed tech startup focused on empowering students through storytelling. During her time there, she played a pivotal role in scaling their technology platform, leading cross-functional teams, and shaping both the technical architecture and strategic direction of the company’s digital products.

    Kim holds a BFA in theater from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

    Emilio

    COACH

    Emilio Carrero is the managing editor of Southeast Review. They have been working with students of all ages since 2017, and have taught courses in creative writing, rhetoric and composition, and English literature. They also formerly helped students with college essay writing as an Essay Advisor at Story2. Emilio’s creative work has received support from Voices of Our Nations Arts, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Their work appears in Leavings Magazine and is forthcoming in Ocean State Review.

    Emilio holds an MFA in creative writing from Arizona State University and is currently working on their PhD in English at FSU.

    Amanda

    COACH

    Amanda Rosenblum has worked in public education and nonprofits for 17 years, and there is nothing that she loves more than learning from young adults. Amanda has provided college counseling and coaching since 2006. She previously worked for Student Leadership Network, supporting a few thousand students annually in leadership development, civic engagement, and their quest to postsecondary education. She currently trains school and nonprofit leaders on building career pathways for young adults.

    Amanda holds a BA in English from Dartmouth, an MA in Urban Education from the CUNY Graduate Center.
